Position: Executive Director,
The National Children's Advocacy Center in Huntsville, Alabama
- Competitive salary based on experience; benefits package; 40 plus
hours per week; relocation assistance available if needed.
Definition: Responsible for managing, sustaining and
growing a nationally known program to combat child abuse and
neglect. Work with Board of Directors to develop a long-term
vision for the Center to provide services
to local community as well as training and programs on a national
level. Ensure effectiveness and sustainability of the Centers
mission and goals to promote excellence in child abuse response,
prevention and training.
Responsibilities include:
· Manage, execute, and monitor
a $5.5 million dollar budget.
· Develop and execute an annual
strategic business plan.
· Analyze the distribution of
funds and other resources among departments and programs for
accuracy and conformance with organizational objectives.
· Coordinate and supervise
grant writing activities and fund raising opportunities.
· Supervise the implementation
and execution of the Centers programs and operations.
· Prepare timely and necessary
reports and evaluations to the Board of Directors.
· Communicate with the Board of
Directors and personnel regarding the goals, objectives,
efficiency, and status of the Centers programs.
· Establish and maintain
favorable working relationships with the Board of Directors,
community groups, staff, associates and general public.
· Facilitate staff meetings and
provide staff supervision and evaluation. Prioritize and
delegate staff priorities and responsibilities.
· Promote organization and
interpersonal skills.
· Initiate and promote public
relations with the community, social services, and the criminal
justice system.
· Work in partnership with
National Children's Alliance and other Centers nationally.
· Serve as a community liaison
and assure effective working relationships among departments,
agencies and key funding sources that are fundamental to the
Centers mission and success.
Requirements:
· Education: Masters Degree
preferred, or a Bachelors degree with applicable experience.
· Experience in managing and
supervising a large and comprehensive organization, personnel, and
budget of similar size.
· Minimum of two years
experience of senior management in a private or public sector
organization.
· Experience and expertise in
the development, analysis and execution of organizational budgets
and strategic plans.
· Strong and effective
organizational and leadership skills.
· Experience as a public
speaker and community liaison.
· Experience in fundraising
activities and grant research and writing or supervising such
activities.
· Strong and positive
communication skills, both verbally and written.

Manatee Palms Youth Services a Psychiatric Hospital located in
sunny Bradenton, Florida is a highly structured, therapeutic
environment, fostering peer interaction and personal growth, social
development and responsibility. Daily group and individual
therapeutic interventions are utilized to motivate, education and
reshape socially maladaptive behavior. The hospital has on site
licensed mental health therapists, psychiatrists and 24 hour
nursing services. The hospital provides on site exceptional student
education. The population our hospital serves are the sexual
offender, sexual reactive/aggressive person, and the mental health
and behavioral/conduct disorders. The average length of stay is 4-9
months.
Currently we are seeking a Full-Time
Child/Adolescent Therapist/Sexual Offender Therapist. The
incumbent will have experience working with children, adolescents
and families. The Therapist will have knowledge of age appropriate
developmental stages of children and adolescents and will be
clinically supervised by either the Lead Therapist or the Director
of Social Services. The Therapist must maintain an active Florida
License.
The requirements for the position are Master’s
Degree in Social Work or Counseling and be either Florida licensed
as an LCSW, LMFT or LMHC.

Conducts psychosocial assessments to
document history and identify preliminary issues for treatment
focus by reviewing the previous treatment history and
interviewing the patient and family members and transcribing
relevant information. The psychosocial is completed within 72
hours from time of admission. |
|
Provides individual, family and group
therapy using various professional treatment modalities.
Individual therapy is completed 1 hour per week and family
therapy is completed 1 hour per week. Group therapy is
completed as assigned per unit schedule. Documentation is
legible and concise within 24 hours of session. |
|
Implements a treatment plan/behavioral
plan specific to the individual patient needs within 7 days of
admission. Completion of a clinical formulation occurs at the
implementation of the initial treatment team. |
|
Participates actively in scheduled
treatment teams and special treatment team meetings and IEP
meetings bringing forth the clinical information from the
patient’s progress. |
|
Reports incidents of suspected abuse using
prescribed forms and protocols as required by the State of
Florida and as outlined in the hospital policies and
procedures. Reports incidents delineated as “critical or
reportable” to designated social service agencies. |
|
Coordinates/delivers specialty programming
activities such as substance abuse, gender specific issues
specialty social issues, holiday functions, pet therapy, etc. |
|
Works effectively with the patient’s
assigned teacher to assess academic progress and development of
interventions to increase such progress. |
|
Works effectively with the Behavior
Analyst to assess the patient’s behavioral issues, target
behaviors, and development of individual interventions to
reduce such identified problems. |
|
Maintains a high level of professionalism;
Professional Code of Ethics and Appropriate Therapeutic
Boundaries with the patients, families and legal guardians. |
|
Attempts verbal intervention in crisis
situations first; utilizes de-escalation preference tool to
assist with formulation of patient’s treatment approach. |
|
Effectively communicates through oral and
written mechanisms patient care aspects to the Director of
Social Services, Charge RN, Staff Nurse, Physician, Shift
Supervisor, MHT, Patients, Families, and Respective Social
Service Agencies. |
